So, after work on Friday, after we'd shut the doors to the public and began balancing for the day, the topic of flavoured condoms and various other sex store paraphenalia came up. I don't know WHY, but it did - and some of the members at my branch were unaware that such products existed.
We're quite the silly and raunchy bunch at our branch after a successful Friday. I mean, really.
During that conversation, while I was minding my own business and focusing on correcting an error I'd made earlier in the day, the girl sitting next to me asked in her chinese accent, "Are you a wirgin?" That's not a typo, it was a distinct "W" sound. Feigning shock, I was like, "Excuse me?" And I was told, "I thought you were a wirgin!" Everyone else caught this and laughed. I wasn't offended at all, and it was funny because I would've never expected this to come from her. I'm not, obviously, and a number of people potentially reading this would know that first hand.
What got me thinking though, was...why would someone have made such an assumption? Do some people give off a "virgin vibe", assuming you know nothing else of their character or life history?
