Anti-Rage
Further to the rage post (section 2), I'd just like to say that Ben Goldacre is a fucking hero.
Now, there are probably going to be a lot of letters and emails from the snake oil salesmen and their deluded victims saying how he is evil etc. Kind of like the ludicrous series of emails last time he appeared on Radio 4. Come to think of it, his Lancet article got mentioned on the Today programme yesterday and I suspect there'll be the usual series of emails regarding that as well.
Goldacre is, essentially, taking on a multimillion pound industry with more vested interests than you can shake a stick at, and powerful patronage from assorted royals and other antirationalist feudalist scumsuckers. I expect a well orchestrated backlash.
You can, if you wish, contact Today here, and the Guardian on letters@guardian.co.uk, to support him and try to ensure the ensuing debate is not dominated by the content free shrieking of the alternative therapy brigade.
You can also sign a petition against the continued NHS funding of this horseshit.
