I'm in Lynchburg now. We're one week into the new job. Last week was a little rough for obvious reasons - getting to know the new job and the usual discomforts that come with a major change in one's life. Today has left me feeling much better about things. I almost hesitate to put that in writing, but it's an honest assessment.
I think the key here will be coming up with something to do every day. I find that I go home happiest if I've had a super productive day at work. I draw a lot of adrenaline from coming home and watching the fruits of my labor on television. Gives me a sense of purpose I suppose. It also helps when I feel like the story I've produced is something relevant, well-edited and well-written. I think today's story includes all of those elements.
Outside of work, I'm finding Lynchburg to be a strangely unfamiliar place - and that's a good thing. I'm constantly surprised to learn new things about Lynchburg and discover new places around the city. This is all strange to me since I grew up in the Lynchburg area - but good because I love variety and being introduced to new things.
One last thing - I got a new camera over the weekend. I lost my old one at the Clinton rally I blogged about. The new one is MUCH better - many, many more megapixels. I will put it to good use and post some pictures on here soon. I won't say where the camera came from, but I will say it was a gift and greatly appreciated!
