Here I am, at my computer, trying to figure out what I will do today. Heres what I want to do:
Since I have a cold and feel like shit, I want to chill out at home, watch a Sopranos episode, work on my pool game, clean my room (which I've been promising myself to do since before September), read for a few hours, record some music, and try to get better at using Photoshop and Final Cut.
However, I am a 16 year old, which means my life must be devoted to my education. Because of this wonderful thing called school, I will instead spend my day doing the following:
Going to the library to research the author of "Inherit the Wind" so I can work on my English project due on the 19th, write a French composition in which I must describe my methods of doing homework, study for a test on the Great Depression, which we stopped talking about in class over a month ago, and finally, HAND-WRITE 75 history IDs, each a paragraph long. Originally I just had to type up 25 of them, because I was splitting them up, but since Max Strasser and Jake fucking Kiernan decided to talk during the movie we watched when Manos was out, I have to hand write all of them, and each set of IDs we get for the rest of the year (at least 30 a month) will have to be handwritten by each student.
High School is supposed to prepare me for college. If it truly were, I would be getting comfortable with music recording and/or video production. Instead, I am doing what is essentially an elementary school writing exercise, from which I will gain nothing other than neater hand-writing.
