Hi
This is my first LJ entry :)
My name is Tim and I'm from the Philippines. My favorite group is Hey!Say!JUMP. My favorite member is Yamada Ryosuke. For me, this group is an inspiration and I truly admire them.
I first began to notice this group when I saw Yama-chan in Kindaichi Shonen N. His acting was superb and quite funny. Also, the dialogues and lines are inspiring especially the one quoted in my profile pic "You'll never find someone who doesn't deserve to live". Then after which, I researched his name and found out about HSJ. I started watching videos and listening to their music. I feel that their music is genuine and what I mostly admire about them is the love they have for their group and its members. Also, the lyrics of their songs are very meaningful and inspiring.
My favorite HSJ song would have to be Candle. Listening to it somehow soothes something in my heart. The lyrics itself is also meaningful. It tells of wishing genuine happiness for the person that you loved most to be happy with another one. My favorite album is S3ART. It presents a more mature side of HSJ and the songs are truly soothing. Its nice to listen to when you just want to bum around and be inspired.
Going back to Yama-chan, he did not become my favorite because he's good looking and all but rather, I was inspired by his backstory, his determination, and his genuineness . Based on what I have read about him, as compared to other members of the group, Yama-chan did not shoot to the spotlight immediately, he worked hard to be recognized. He used to be on the back all the time and his dancing and singing wasn't that great back then. He acknowledge that he is not that talented as compared to the others but he persevered and I truly believe that he deserves where he is right now. It just shows that hard work always pays of and hard work can turn into talents. In my life, I also wish to be like him. To persevere among all odds and to be in a place where I can say that I've earned through my hard work.
Another thing which inspires me about him is that Yama-chan is a genuinely beautiful human being both inside and out. He may act all cool and bratty in some variety shows but it seems that he's a very warm person and he genuinely loves his group and its members. This can easily be felt in his writings and articles. One which struck me the most was when he was given a break to have a solo album. Most artist would see this as a huge opportunity to fame however in written accounts and as attested by the members, it was not like this for Yama-chan. He was very considerate and even didn't want to do this as he felt that in doing this, he is betraying to a point that he wanted to quit. Only through the encouragement of his members that he pushed through with it but you can clearly see in the making of his solo pv how he genuinely misses his members and wished they were there with him.
Also in recent interviews, he clearly says how happy he is that members are everywhere now, it just shows that he doesn't wish to hug the spotlight and wants to give each and every member the opportunity to shine and be known. I myself wish to be this warmth and to be this unselfish just like him, "to genuinely wish for the betterment of others". I have lost this in my life and I hope to gain this by being inspired by his action.
I hope that my writing has somehow showed my character even though all I talked about was my admiration for Yama-chan and Hey!Say!JUMP. I would like to end this entry with a quote from Yama-chan's 10000 words interview:
“Rather than rejoicing alone, I prefer to rejoice with everyone”
Thanks for reading and I hope you also will be inspired :)
