so i'm working today at kresge lodge, and they are making fun of me because i want to take an obvious pay cut next summer to be a counselor. they kept asking me why i would want to do such a thing, what with living in the cabins, and the food, and no air conditioning and blahblahblah ( Read more... )

i was 2nd chair trombone in the wind ensemble
but i ended up sitting first chair for the concert and playing all the solos and shit because the 1st chair girl left to catch a flight...lol

how did you like the wind ensemble?

honest opinion?

i heard the march, suite of old american dances, and slava because i had to leave to be at my acutal job on campus.

the march by all means was good.

i like SOAD..you guys played two mvmts i had never heard before and i thought they were alright. western one step kicked ass, but its hard not to make it do so.

slava...i was a little disappointed. i knew it was only two weeks, and im guessing you guys spent more rehearsal time on other pieces. it was way slow for me..and a lot of cool percussion parts were missing. there was a better way your 6 percussionists could have organized themselves to cover parts...but yah whatever.

i was disappointed i didnt get to hear american salute..i love that song as well.

i loved western one step
the waltz movement was ugly sounding writing though

yeah slava was a tricky one, i thought it sounded good, but that's because i had never heard it before...you obviously had something to compare it to...cool...

american salute was fun, too.

yeah... i accidently kept the music for the singing songs, and wish i'd kept the music for everything

but yeah, so many memories, so much goodness.

i could defentiely understand being a counselor like that
