I love Sundays bigtime. It's a delicious grey overcast day of No sun too, so I am legally obliged to stay at home and do nothing and listen to the Black Summer album which I found on my laptop from Barceloca days long gone. Makes me think of Jamboree (in the Plaza Real) ... it's all Sean Paul, Beyonce and Janet and so on and that "I am so into you" Ashanti song.
Anyway, the plan is get some writing done before the week hits.
Friday night turned out to be rather nice - I felt absolutely gutted kind of sick when I got home from work (sorry, two unrelated halves of sentence). It was Fiona's last day at work so she had a presentation thingy in May Gibbs (a room) with a yummy chocolate cake and the most awesome picture of all of us on the cover of the 90210 First Season DVD cover on her farewell card (not the company one) - will have to post it up because it cracks me up so badly - although I got photoshopped over DONNA (aka Tori Spelling) of all people ...
Anyway Ali said I could leave early because she was leaving early, so I left at 4pm, got home and collapsed on the couch for about an hour of half-napping (the kind where you keep waking up then sleeping again). I made it into the city by about six thirty, wandered the streets til I found Australia Square and then spent about ten mins on the phone to Paige trying to locate her! It was absolutely packed - like a mini concert.
It was good to see her, I also caught up with Laura from school and JP who I hadn't seen in about seven years ... very weird. Afterwards I headed to Hippo Lounge to see Stu for his farewell and had a very good time. Evan, Dave, Julian, Blake, Alex, Carl, Christina, Bo, Matt, Harrison, everyone was there .. even Dave's ex Fiona and her best friend Heather turned up which was awkward at first but then okay. And I got to see Annette from Salamanca which was nice.
By the time I got home it was 1am (and this was a night where I had been planning to stay in and recover but at Paige's thing I was bought a couple of OJs with vodka which did the trick nicely it seems. Anyway, yesterday I went to the dentist and OH SWEET RELIEF!
The black thing on my second from last back tooth turned out to be a small black -thing- that was lodged in a little tooth valley, ie. an alien obkect unrelated to such things as cavities. Suffice to say, he (and his name was Dr Mclean hehehehe) took it out, laughed at me and then gave my teeth a thorough clean (although he said they were absolutely plaque free and gave me the dental praise I crave every six months). I can still say, with large amounts of pride, that I, Natalie Jane Costa Bir, am cavity free after nearly twenty-four years of living la vida loca. I went shopping for a while to celebrate, bought nothing but the Sydney Morning Herald, went home and ate about five chocolate biscuits to celebrate being able to allow sugar into my mouth once again.
It was fabulously stormy last night - thunderbolts and lighting vair vair frightening me! Galileo!
Anyway, to the sorting machine!
x and o to all of you
