If you're early in the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series, I have to warn you about the 8th in the series,
The Good Husband of Zebra Drive, (by Alexander McCall Smith, of course) because it will give you some stress. Half the cast of characters suddenly decide to cut loose from the ties that bind, and the other half are confused and confounded.
Patients are dying in the Mochudi Hospital, under mystifying circumstances; one, two, three. Husbands are behaving suspiciously. People are deciding to move up in the world, and devil take the hindmost.
Can the reader stand it all?? Will Mma Makutsi's shoes give her the right advice??? Will Charlie ever get his act together????
Well, I lived to tell the tale; but I won't tell it, because that would be a spoiler. I'm hoping, however, for a more emotionally sedate 9th volume.
