The Velveteen Bible Review

Book Summary:

Give the Velveteen Bible as that extra special gift for baptisms, christenings, baby dedications, birthdays, or any gift-giving occasion in your little one's life.  Make it sweet by personalizing the presentation page and family record section.  Your child will enjoy reading God's Word while being delighted by the adorable animals playfully decorating the full-color pages throughout.  This special size of the New King James Version is just right for little hands to hold and carry to church.

My Review:
This is a very sweet looking Bible.  The size is perfect for a child, and the bunny on the front is fuzzy and makes it look like a book you'd like to have.  My son (2, admittedly young for a Bible yet) was excited to open the keepsake box and pull out the Bible.  He wanted to 'read' it, so we flipped through the pages together, and I found all of the picture pages for him to look at and we enjoyed the sweet illustrations along with the popular scriptures on the pages.
This would be a nice gift for a child as a special occasion.  I'm trying to decide if I should put it up for a while and give it to him when he's a few years older or not.  I was initially going to put it in his Easter basket this year, but that was when I had the impression that it was a 'children's' Bible - with simple summed-up Bible stories in it.
I do like it, though, and I look forward to giving it to a little one in the future :)
