*Tim is in one of the tea rooms. Well it was a tea room. It is now FLYNN'S ARCADE. It is game for game exactly like how the arcade looked. He's playing Defender right now and struggling to beat whatever high score the mansion arbitrarily set.

Which is like this for those not in the know.

After another crippling defeat he looks over at his comm.* ( Read more... )

He might not recognize the arcade machines (can't see the forest when you're a tree), but Droog knows a game of skill when he sees one. He'll be poking his head in right about now.

Nice setup.

Thanks!

*Okaaayyy.. That's one of the more weird looking people he's seen here.*

I'm pretty proud of it.

You look like someone who'd be into a shooting game. Liiiike... that one.

Good guess, Tim.

Droog picks up one of the brightly colored guns, tilts it this way and that. It's awfully light, even for something that's obviously not a weapon.

It's fake. Is that part of the game?

Yep. Shoot the robots.

*He puts in some quarters and the game begins! With a cheery reminder to not do drugs. Then.... ALIEN ROBOTS!*

Alien robots...on a screen. Target practice Droog understands, but he has some trouble making the shift from real targets to flat pixels. The toy gun has no kickback. It feels unreal. And then the ammo gauge onscreen starts flashing empty.

How do I reload?

He might even sound a little bewildered.

There's a button on the side of the gun. You're kinda freakishly good at this actually.

He jams the button and resumes the virtual massacre, his lip curling occasionally when his inexperience with the game medium causes him to miss a target.

There are two guns. Could we compete?

We'd be on the same side, but we could compare body count.

I think you'd beat me though..

He picks up the second gun and offers it.

Let's go.

Alright.

*He puts out his cigarette and takes the gun, adding some more quarters to the machine.*

You're on.

*He smirks and then: DEATH TO THE EVIL ROBOTS. Or whatever it is they're shooting.*

Droog likes competition, but he also knows how to function as part of a team. And he's getting the hang of the toy gun.

Robot parts fly.

High scores are broken.

He's grinning by the end, showing pointed teeth.

You're good.

*TEAM CARAPACE AND SQUISHY HUMAN FOR GREAT VICTORY!*

Well I've played before. That was kinda awesome. We should do some more.

*And smoke and drink like bros.*
