Yea, so like in college they tend to give you the run around. In my case this was registering for a class that was full. K lets begin IKOZOU!
K like I have registered for classes in the fall. On mondays I have class at 2:30-4 and night class from 6-9. I also COMMUTE TO SCHOOL BY TRAIN+SUBWAY+WALKING 3 HOURS A DAY ON AVERAGE (3 hours total) Sometimes it has taken me over 5 hours because of a delay, accident, train breaking down, you know.
The class I want is from 4-5:30. This is an Information Systems course, which My advisor cannot control since He is Information Technology (political stuff). My advisor is ausome tho. He is the most helpful guy I have ever met in a advisory position. He got me into closed classes before and what not etc etc. So like He tells me to go see who is in charge of the course in IS. I find a name: lets dub him...OG K So I call OG and talk to him over the phone about the IS course - IS431 and like he's like K:
"This class is a hybrid online and in class"
So Im like..so whats with this other section?
He says: Yea its at brookdale in Wall township, same time though.
This is about like 20 minutes drive from my house...BUT since I have a class right before IS 431 which I am trying to get into that section at brookdale wont work for me since I cant get there in time. There is also a night class I Have to go to as well remember? (6-9)
So I ask him, what can I do?
He says: fill out the closed section application.
So I go and do this , I write about 1/2 a page explaining my situation (imagine this LJ post hand-written on paper in very very small print) and hand it in. That was April 2nd when Registration began...K so like since then I havent gotten a reply or ANYTHING AT ALL since then.

Next step:
I was busy with finals/projects n stuff so I sorta waited for the closed section form to go through...being patient
K so now we fastforward all that time doing work/studying and waiting to the present day. Today may 10th Timeline:
Walked to IS department
Found OG
I asked him if he reviewed any of the closed section application forms
He says no
I ask him about the closed section IS 431 and about if there is any room
He is now facing his computer away from me doing whatever he is doing. And says (I quote directly) "That section (the one at brookdale) is a phony, There is no section at brookdale, its on campus, and all the students that registered on there are living on campus"
So I ask him, is there anyway I can get in?
He says NO there is 32 students in there.
[even though the maximum was 17+25 = 37 the first section max was 17, then the second max for the brookdale section held 25 but I guess since they saw people registering for it they were like OH NOES! and they stopped it at exactly 15, go figure]
This all happens in about 30 seconds cause he is busy for a meeting and going over "stuff" he says right before the meeting. And the very kind lady next door overheard, and tried to help me out, she helped me out before when I was filling out the closed section application form.
Basically:
[So HE(OG) LIED TO ME DIRECTLY TO MY FACE THE FIRST TIME I TALKED TO HIM]
Next I came back to work and talk with my supervisors and they were like..why dont you find the head of the IS dept?
So I did I found MB
I called MB, he was in a meeting
So I waited exactly 2 hours and 10 minutes went up to his office and saw him
Instead this other dude JS was like, hey man Im head of that class you are trying to take!
I explained my situation with him and he's like why dont you take the online class?
[I have had BAD TERRIBLE experiences with online classes, Ive taken 3 of them so far. And the teacher doesnt know what they are doing, they never help, never at school, just horrible]
So I told him that I had bad experiences
He's like well those are from a different dept, ours rocks your socks.
Im like. No thanks. Then he continues to talk about the magical wonders of an online course..Im like..yea..I want the classroom.
So he says he will do what he can EVEN tho he has no power exactly since he isnt Head of the IS Dept. I guess its okay...cause like I got his email, He got mine..he says there is a SLIGHT possibility they will open up another section and he will let me know...Im like not trying to get my hopes up cause I know its gona make me more stressed out.
Then after we talk for about 20 minutes, MB comes out
He says basically, that its closed he cant do nothing about it blah blah blah
I heard it as "Hey man we screwd up big time and we covered it up but you found us out! oh noes, so we arent gona let you inside cause you suck, and you didnt register for a section that only holds 17 people even tho we maxed it out at 32, so why dont you take this crappy online class with a professor...umm yea I dont even know who is teaching it (that part is actually 100% untranslated, now continuing translation) So good luck and have a nice day! "
About 10 minutes later I get a phone call...Its from MB cause he didnt get my phone call before and he forgot my name in like 10 minuets even tho I saw him for a good 2 minutes before he ran away to his office.
End result thus far:
Wasted lots of time and effort and brain cells. I got an email..and man Im gona use it until the email server is sick of seeing my emails to him cause one of them has to get through to him XD
