Not really sure what got me on the idea this time around. i go thru it every so often, but for some reason this time it feels very different. and this time i committed ongoing money to it. yes i have once again decided to do weight watchers, the difference? this time i JOINED. i know that sounds funny but bear with me. previously i have used materials from a friend, (thanks val!!lol) i have ordered the materials to a new plan on ebay and followed it, but this time i walked my large ass in there got weighed and joined the monthly pass prgogram. for those who might actually be reading this that dont know this automatically deducts from your checking each month. it pays for he meetings and allows you all access to all the online tools. the plan is very simple once you know how to do it, and most importantly its not a diet but a lifestyle change, and boy am i learning already! Now for val this may be boring as hell cause she knows how all this works and well supernova this may bore you senseless too..lol. i dont know if anyone else reads or not..lol. but heres the 411...
WW works on a point system. it used to be based primarily on calories but no more. now theres always been a mathematic formula to figure points, val knew how to do it..lol. i was always dumbfounded by it so i took the laymans way out and fgured 50 cal = 1 pt. not 100 percent accurate but it worked for all intents and purposes at that time. val you will have to tell me if these are the same factors that you used to figure....lol.....now they use fiber fat carbs and protien to figure it out. AND for those like me that are so math illiterate a calculator barely helps they have a new gizmo that i LOVE!! its a points calculator! all you do is feed the info into the proper spots and it tells you how many points! you dont have to remember the formula it does it for you!!! oh did i mention you get assigned points to eat each day? guess thats an important point for those not familiar..lol. i get 44 currently. which is way more than i ever qualified for before but its all part of the new plan. getting back to the calculator, if you happen to have a smart phone, which i do (thank you free upgrade!!!!lol) you can download a free app of the calculator to your phone so you can be a little more discreet about what you are doing..lol. its free to download but you have to have a code they give you when you sign up to utilize it.
i joined offically and weighed in for the first time this past thursday. not ready to share what that weight was but it was the highest i have ever been! maybe after a bit i will share,or those of you observant enough may figure it out as i reach milestones..lol. so i got my new kit, it comes in a snazzy binder with room for things you may want to tote around with you and zips up. i will prob carry that to meetings. meetings may be an issue as i need to find one i like, BUT with the monthly pass you dont get booted out for not coming to meetings so i will deal. also there is a actual center in salisbury now with pretty good hours and lots of meetings, plus they will let you talk to a consultant even if you cant make the meeting.
things i like about this center...neither you nor the person behind you can see the display on the scale. it is behind the counter with the WW associate. they print out a little sticker that goes in your weight tracker that has your current weight points and 5% and 10% goals. you stick it in your book and go on about your business..lol. all the ladies working there have little name tags that not only display their names but how much they lost to get to their goal weight and what year. now i noticed that none of them had to lose a astronomical amount of weight...i think the largest i saw was 50. would love to see a tag from someone like me..lol. but these ladies are also not those silly people who think they are obese cause they need to loose ten pounds either..lol.
in addition to the trackers that go with the program i am also keeping a seperate journal for myself, in addition to this one. see i have this habit of one..getting sick from food all the time and having no idea what caused it, or forgetting how good i felt as i got healthier. not this time. for example last night i had a full plate of food for 12 pts. now to put this in perspective for you..a plain chickfila sandwich and reg waffle fry would be 17 pts before you even added and condiments or beverage. my FULL plate of food AND beverage were 12 pts. steamed string beans(free!!! pts) corn on the cob 2 at 2pts each. roasted potatoes at 4pts, and grilled skinless boneless chicken breast 4 pts. caffiene free tea sweetened with splenda free all i want..lol. and spray margerine free! i ate all this was perfectly full AND i wasnt bloated and gas-ee lol after. in fact after dinner i went and walked around in walmart for awhile!! i had to enter that in my journal cause after a normal dinner i would be lethargic and bloated etc. i felt so good!!!
the last few weeks i have been walking to work, and began mowing moms yard. now granted mowing takes some breaks as i am still having back issues, but i am seeing some differences in my back with the walking to work. now keep in mind this is my once or twice a week job and it takes me about ten min each way to walk it...altho i did it in 8 this morning!!! i also wanna get my bike out of storage so i can get going on it again too!
WW also isnt about giving up. its about learning what a normal serving is, what moderation is..lol. i even have little 5 pt packs of dove chocolates made up..lol. on a day when i find myself with lots of points left over i indulge myself in a packet of candies..lol. just making sure i track it all! also something that has changed almost all fresh fruits and vegs are free now. except for starchy stuff liike potatoes or corn there are no points involved until you add seomthing, like say dip to carrots..lol. it definitely encourages you to get in those fruits and veggies!!! lol ok moving on..lol
mom had cataract surgery this past week. she doesnt need her glasses anymore except when shes reading! mom has been wearing glasses for 50 yrs!! now on the cusp of 70 she doesnt need them anymore except to read!!! lol. she is absolutely giddy!!!Lol
read the first two hunger games books, waiting to get my hands on the third. how addicting! cant wait to see the movie, it comes out on on demand sometime in august.
well i think thats it for the time being. Happy Fathers day everyone!!
