[The communicator flips on to reveal two roughhousing half grown-coyotes tumbling infront of the screen. Whining, growling, chewing...and then a large black Direwolf herds them out of the way of the clearing, the trio of them moving to just barely off-screen where they can rest and watch. Aaron and Kimi are sitting near the river, the both of them appearing calm, meditating. Kimimaro is the first to move, sea foam eyes snapping open and right hand raising without a sound. A strangely white bone begins to slide out of the center of his palm, flesh separating to allow its exit, but no blood is in sight.
Without warning the narrow and long white shape is launched from his palm. It whizzes past Aaron's face, missing by half an inch, sending gold locks of hair into a dance. A harsh wake-up call, but effective all the same. Aaron yelps, dodging back into a roll, managing to stop before he reaches the bank, yelping in shock]
Niisan! What was that for?!
[The one word that sounds natural on Aaron's lips, as he gives Kimimaro a bewildered look. Aaron glances back and forth, picking his way back to where he originally was, standing there warily]
"You must be prepared at all times, Aaron-san. The purpose of meditation is not to lose yourself, but to find yourself."
[Kimimaro smiles faintly and he rises, standing taller than the older boy The bone formerly launched returns with a beckoning finger, seeping back through that skin, becoming a part of himself once more.]
"Given your body type, I think ranged fighting might be the best option for you, for now. Let's work on your reflexes and your aim, today."
[Aaron nods quickly, snapping out of his reverie]
Yeah! Alright! Well...isn't it harder to fight ranged? Or defend? I'm kind of at a loss, sorry...
[Kimimaro shakes his head slowly. He's patient, it seems... always so for Aaron.]
"Both forms of combat have advantages and disadvantages, Aaron-san... The point is to find what is most advantageous to the fighter.
As an opponent that uses ranged fighting techniques you will be able to see more clearly what is going on around you. Melee makes combat more difficult, as you only see what it is you are close to. Given your compact body type, your light weight and increased agility, I think that you would do remarkably well fighting from a distance. You will be quick, hard to spot and to hit, and you will not need to worry as much about close-quarter blows that can deal crippling damage."
Yeah...alright! Try again, I...I can work on dodging? Won't learn unless we practice, right?
[Kimimaro nods, and another bone projectile slides forth from his palm. He bows his head, and Aaron takes a step back, actually grinning now, if only a little. Dreizehn rises, backing away from the two, obscuring the first movements form Kimimaro and Aaron. There's a blur of motion then as a moment later the coyotes tumble over the communicator racing after a stray bone, cutting the video feed off]
