I watched 6 movies over the past two days, and I thought I'd rate them. In accordance to the free form laws of opinion, you do not have to agree or disagree with any of my ratings and you don't have to take them as a guage for your movie watching pleasure. Anyway, here goes, they're out of five stars.
The Terminal *** 1/2
Yes, I'm a big softy, but that is well known. It was good, though highly unbelievable (even though it was based on a true story) and slightly goofy. Tom Hanks' character learned English way too easily. But overall it was a feel good movie.
Grand Theft Parsons ***
Three stars is rather generous, but it had some pretty funny parts, and the "Hippy Guy" made the movie. But the plot was thin, and it too was based on a true story.
Johnny Knoxville has promise.
15 minutes ***
This movie was sort of good but had some bad individual scenes, and some weak acting. Three stars is generous for this too. DeNiro is just ok in this not great, and Edward Burns was pretty solid.
Man on Fire ***
I would give it three and a half but I don't want to go overboard. It was good, but Christopher Walken wasn't used too much, but Denzel was decent. The little girl in it was a pretty good actress too.
Bourne Supremacy ****
I only give it four because of the first one, and I think it is a decent companion piece, like Halloween one and two. It more or less builds on the story then tell another one. No James Bond here, not even Indiana Jones, more like a more in depth Die Hard. But it was good, not as good as the first, as some say but good.
Monster ****
I really think the oscar was well deserved in this one. Make up aside, Charlize Theron did a hell of a job. She had me believing it. I'm sorry I put off watching it. And this one too was based on a true story. That is half of them being based on true stories.
Well, that is all my past two days have consisted of, so I thought I'd share. Enjoy.
