You guested it dear readers, it took the actors 5 minutes to break shrek into pieces... and he was made of 808 resin! that's strong stuff, not cheap garbage chems but near $500 a bucket good stuff. So... rushed out to buy the strongest simi-flexible erathane elastomer i could find (320 shore 45D)... it's suppose to be damn near unbreakable. I had to prep the molds differently... washing them, drying them completely and working talc into the skins (this will give it a tooth so paint will stick). Heated the molds a bit and mixed and poured everything. Now I have them warming nicely since this stuff doesn't like cold at all and will just sit there mocking you in the molds staying the consistency of thick syrup.
I'll use the extra hours it takes for the 320 to kick-off by mixing more paint (out of "shrek base green) and off white. all the washes will do.
Anyone want to take bets whether they can break this "unbreakable" version? anyone? didn't think so ;-P
