[The Doctor's feed click on as his SFC hits the floor of his TARDIS. Viewers see a shot of the Doctor munching on a raw tomato. Its juice is getting all over his face and hands, but he doesn't seem to notice]Tomato. Such an odd fruit. Definitely not as good as a banana. It may have developed from the ovary in the base of the flower, just like any ( Read more... )

Doctor! I haven't seen you around in a long time...which is odd for you.

Everything all right?

Here and there. Mostly here, actually. I've been trying to get the TARDIS to work for... [He looks down at his SFC] weeks, apparently. Oh dear. Nothing's exploded in my absence, I take it?

No, just the population again, a lot of new comers, no one you know...I think. Might want to check the list.

Anything you need help with? I'll admit, I've been kind of bored, even new faces haven't been distracting enough.

[The Doctor quickly flicks through the list.] No one new that I know, but... Jack, where's Rose?

What? What do you mean, she was there.

[He checks his own list, just to make sure, but, of course, why would the doctor be wrong?]

She's not...but...she was there yesterday.

[The Doctor is clearly distraught. Instead of his usual 100-mile-an-hour speech pattern, all the Doctor can managed is:] But... she.. Jack. She can't be gone. I can't... I can't lose her again.

[Jack looks away. He wishes he could reach through the SFC to the Time Lord.]

I'm...I'm sorry, Doctor. I wish I could bring her back here for you. Or send you to her; I know how you must feel.

[Something snaps in the Doctor and the his face fades from sorrowful to wrathful. The Doctor practically spits out:]

This place has messed with far too many people's lives already. It must stop. I will stop it with my bare hands if I need to; tear apart every last atom until I find the source of this... this time/space-paradox and end it.

[Well, he can't exactly disagree with him, but it'd be a lie if to say there wasn't a small part of him that wanted to stay.]

I agree. I'm here to help you Doctor, I always will be; whatever you need me to do.

Sure. Right. Just like every other human. Eventually, you'll just get pulled away, too. They all do. And it could happen at any time in this place. This... infernal... nonsensical...

[The Doctor is too angry to continue speaking. He has a pained, but still angry look on his face, teeth bared.]

....you're right, I could. But I'm here right now, so, in the meantime, I'm going to help you.

[Jack had been walking swiftly to the park up to this point. Now he was outside the TARDIS, knocking at the locked door.]

Let me in, Doctor. Please.
