Well well well...

What Sam said, it got me. Well, it got me a bit curious, really. I mean, I know I'm brilliant, but finding out that I'm a character in a kids' show is pretty impressive. I mean, me! In a kids show! The children of the Great British nation, sitting down to watch me battle the Daleks and Cybermen! I mean that's... well, I dunno. What's the world ( Read more... )

... Oh, that's brilliant. Oh, wow. You shall have to tell us what you think once you've got through them. As for the cardboard Daleks and such... people get a bit obsessive, really. Hardcore fans, you know; dressing up in costumes, read all the novels, learn to write in Old High Gallifreyan- it's a bit mental.

You celebrated a holiday with the Master? Just... hung out with him, without him trying to kill you or enslave the known universe while he was at it?

At the minute, I'm thinking that your lot, your BBC, are completely mad, Sam! And as for the hardcore fans, you don't mean like Star Trek, do you? Please tell me it's not like that. I mean, I'm all for enjoying a show, but the obsessiveness, I mean, really.

Um, yeah, actually. He managed to get a Dalek cake from somewhere, of all things. Probably his idea of a joke, but. I'm still alive, aren't I?

Of course they are! Mentalists, the lot of 'em. But what can you expect from television people, really? And yeah, I'm afraid, about the fans. A lot of 'em are even worse than Trekkies. There's not as many obsessive Who fans, but... they get pretty creepy.

A Dalek cake? ... Is that usual, with this regeneration of him? He keeps trying to convince me that he's changed, but, well, you'd understand why I'd be hesitant to believe him.

Oh, don't get me started on television people. Satellite 5... well, I guess you'd know all about that, wouldn't you?

Well, if you mean the sense of humor and general mischievousness, then, yes. And... well, as for changing... he hasn't really. Or, at least, not much. He does seem to genuinely care about River, though, I'll give him that.... Oh, I dunno. I can only live in hope, I guess. Keep an eye on things.

Hah, yeah. That and the Gamestation, though it's one and the same thing, really; the epitome of bad television, that.

... Right. Hope's a good thing to have. Still though- strange. I guess- I don't really know what to think of him.

Oh, don't even remind me. Reality TV, eh? Who needs it? You and all your lot, sitting down there, watching people ruin their lives on telly... well, I suppose you need something to replace the gladiator stadiums.

... That was rude, wasn't it?

Oh, hope, best thing to have! Trust me though, the thinking doesn't get much easier after 900 years either.

A bit rude, yeah. There's no need to generalise; plenty of people who don't have time for that rubbish. Though I s'pose there's still plenty who do. Never really understood it meself; better things to do with one's time, seems to me.

I wouldn't have thought it would. ... Good luck, with him. Just, for the future.

Well, that's a good way of thinking about things Sam Tyler. Though the way your media seems to follow those things, you'd forgive me for generalising a little, wouldn't you?

Yeah. Thanks for that.

Fair enough, I suppose. But then, I'm not exactly what you might call a fan of the media.
