Teaser: "I'm sorry about him. He thinks he's something special since his father is a school governer. I'm Genesis Pendragon."
Genesis was reading a book of Ancient Runes as the doors to her compartment slid open. Draco Malfoy entered the room, followed by two heavy set boys that Genesis did not remember.
"Genesis, this is Gregory Crabbe and Vincent Goyle." He said simply. "You don't need to worry about them, they listen to me." He whispered in her ear.
Genesis looked at him curiously. "That's not very nice. Where's Cass?" She asked.
"France. Wanted to study there for some reason. Want to go find Harry Potter?" Draco looked at her book and smirked. "We can't take Runes till our third year." He mentioned.
Genesis shrugged. "I know, just my mum's subject when she comes back and its rather fascinating." She smiled at him. "I'll go though." She said, sliding off her seat.
They wandered down the train corridors, Draco opening train compartments, not caring if he interrupted something and Genesis trailed after him, apologizing. By the end of the train, Genesis finally asked a boy, who appeared to have a twin if the rumors were true and he pointed to Harry Potter's compartment. Smiling, Genesis walked down behind Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. He opened the door, stepping in as Genesis rolled her eyes.
"Is it true? They're saying all down the train that Harry Potter's in this compartment. So it's you, is it?" Draco asked.
He introduced Crabbe and Goyle along with himself. Weasley snorted as he had. "Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are. My father told me all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and more children than they can afford." He looked back at Harry. "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco stated, holding out his hand to shake Harry's.
Harry didn't take it, backing away a bit. "I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks." He said cooly.
A tinge of pink crossed Draco's cheeks and Genesis had to bite her lip to refrain from laughig. "I'd be careful if I were you, Potter. Unless you're a bit politer you'll go the same way as your parents. They didn't know what was good for them either. You hang around with rifraff like the Weasleys and that Hagrid, and it'll rub off on you." Genesis stepped between the boys as soon as Harry and Ron stood up.
"Say that again." Ron remarked his face as red as his hair.
"Oh, you're going to fight us, are you?" Malfoy sneered.
"Unless you get out now." Harry mentioned.
Genesis took a deep breath. "Draco..." She muttered, pushing him toward the door.
Draco looked at Genesis for a moment an unpleasant smile on his face. "But we don't feel like leaving, do we, boys?" We've eaten all our food and you still seem to have some." He said taking another step forward.
Goyle's hand went toward a chocolate frog next to Ron who lept forward. Before he could even touch Goyle, Goyle let out a terrible yell.
A rat was hanging off his finger, sharp little teeth sunk deep into Goyle's knuckle - Crabbe and Malfoy backed away as Goyle swung Scabber round and round. The rat flew off, hitting the window as all three of them disappeared at once, leaving Genesis in the compartment with them.
Genesis shook her head. "I don't have time for him to be rude." She said, smiling brightly as she laid her eyes on Harry's scar. "I'm sorry about him. He thinks he's something special since his father is a school governer. I'm Genesis Pendragon." She smiled warmly. "You must be a Weasley, which one are you? Fred, George, or Percy?" She asked.
Ron blushed. "I'm Ron." He said.
Genesis turned red as well. "Sorry." She said. "My mum only told me about Charlie, Bill, Percy and your twin brothers. She's a teacher here, well was. She hasn't been back in ages." She smiled at the boys as a girl entered the compartment.
"What has been going on?" She said, looking at the sweets all over the floor and Ron picking up his rat by his tail.
"I think he's been knocked out. No - I don't believe it - he's gone back to sleep." He said.
Genesis walked over, peering at the rat. "Oh he has." She said, scrunching her nose. She looked over at the girl, giving her a small smile. She looked over at Harry and gave him a small smile. "It was nice meeting you Harry." She said, exiting the room and heading back to Draco's compartment.
Harry watched the girl leave and felt his scar tingle for a brief moment. He ran his hand over it, wondering why it would even have that effect.
"You alright Harry?" Ron asked.
Harry stared out of the window. "Yes." He answered.
Genesis sighed, sitting back down. Draco, Greg, and Vincent hadn't returned yet. She picked up her book going back to reading. Her eyes shut eventually, her dreams coming toward her.
"Genesis, don't walk away from me!" A man shouted at her.
Genesis turned on her heel. "And what stay and live with you? My father is waiting for me. I don't want anything to deal with you!" She shouted.
"Genesis you are not just a Lona, you are a Black too." The man shouted after her.
Genesis shook her head. "No, I'm a Lupin." She declared.
Someone nudged her awake and Genesis sat up looking around. She saw Draco smiling at her and she smiled back. "Oh, hey Draco." She said stretching out.
Draco smiled. "You okay? You were mumbling things." He remarked.
Genesis nodded. "Yeah, just a dream." She answered.
Draco nodded. "I shooed Crabbe and Goyle so you can change into your robes. We're almost there." He stated.
Genesis smiled. "Thanks Draco. I'll be a minute." She remarked.
Draco smiled softly, heading out of the compartment and closing the doors. Genesis watched him leave the doors and she changed quickly. She opened them back up, poking her head out. She frowned not seeing Draco and she walked down the compartment. The train slowed and came to a halt, she noticed the older students gathering their stuff and she sighed. This was going to be a long year.
