MEME: Comment here to find out what the Seventh Doctor really thinks of your character. The truth, I mean, not just what he'd tell you.

Public Service Announcement:
Oh hai guys, I totally forgot to post an entry here saying that I returned from my trip across the pond. Although I suppose the post for Ace's birthday last week was some indication of ( Read more... )

:D

All right, here you go: Seven loves his TARDIS. The End. :P

N'aw, I kid, I kid. You get more than that.

Basically, I see it like this: all of the incarnations preceding Seven were close to the TARDIS (because Doctor/TARDIS = OTP, no matter the incarnation), but the bond kept getting stronger and stronger. I think it started as more mother/child, for a little while, and then BFF for a bit during, say, Two's reign, and then by the time Three came along, it began to change dramatically. The Doctor/TARDIS relationship became more intimate, even deeper, all leading to the Seventh Doctor, where I think things took an even more abrupt, dramatic turn. Because starting with Seven, the Doctor/TARDIS relationship took on a romantic nature/aspect, and it only continued from there, into Eight, Nine and Ten.

Seven can be so obviously not human sometimes, and yet he can completely throw you for a loop and seem to have human tendencies, seem to be curious about the human perspective on things. I really think that, subtly, Seven begins to explore human behavior on another level, like their notions of love, and the way they express it. Naturally, he wants to share this with his TARDIS, because he shares everything with her. Not that he has a choice, because of their bond, but he wants to share everything with her. I think Seven has a remarkable amount of pre-cognizance, which I think he shares with his TARDIS, and I think it's oftentimes made them comfort each other, when they're both aware of terrible things that must happen. So the psychic bond takes on an even more intense angle, with them in a way supporting each other in maintaining the laws of Time, whatever the cost. Seven sometimes has a very strange moral compass; he doesn't want anyone to be hurt, even those doing the hurting. And yet, there are times when he makes exceptions to that rule, when it's fitting for him, so I imagine him often being taken down a peg by his TARDIS, when she points out the hypocrisy in his actions at times. He's incredibly protective of her, and as we've discussed before, I think that even though it would be possibly the hardest decision of his life, he would choose his TARDIS over a human companion, even Ace. Because humans die, his TARDIS has always, and will always, be with him. I can't honestly see Seven functioning very well without her, there's a lot of co-dependency there. He adores her and loves her and I have a theory that he has a series of massages and strokes and caresses he uses on his TARDIS everyday to make sure she feels his love, sort of like a daily goodnight kiss.

...that made me flail happily, I'll have you know. Awwwwww, Seven. *snugs him*

He really is a very tactile person, isn't he? And I can definitely see him experimenting with the TARDIS, kinda like him and Koschei surely did when they were at the Academy. Different level and slightly different scenario, but same general concept and feelings. Not to mention, well ... Human Nature.

I also like the idea of Seven being the more romantic of the Doctor's incarnations and getting into a more intimate relationship with the TARDIS because of that. It's intriiiiiiguing.

He's a dear, isn't he? And I'm glad you flailed happily, that should happen more often.

He is SO tactile, and I see him getting quite creative when it comes to touching his TARDIS. Yes, I could see it a lot like with Koschei.

It intrigues me, too. And since it intrigues me, I have to explore it at great depth. All the time. Ceaselessly. It will invade my dreams, and I'll wake up with thoughts about some new angle to the Seven/TARDIS relationship. I ought to keep a notebook by my bed for this very reason.

I rather enjoy flailing happily.

She doesn't like being compared to Koschei, but at least she liked him, as opposed to the Master.

I approve of exploration! And you should! I wanna see these thoughts!
