So today was one of the better days that I've had in a really long time. History was fine, though nothing much happened, and I felt really out of it in Math. However, it was English that really made my day. Mrs. Plas gave me my research paper back and at first I didn't even look at it. I just said, "Thank you." However, she opened it and pointed to the grade on my rubric. "That's never happened before," she said. "I've never given a perfect score on a research paper."
"Oh-my-gosh! Thank you!" I exclaimed. She asked if she could tell the class, which was fine with me and asked if I would print out a new copy of my paper so she can use it as an example in the future. I am really excited. Then, she apparently told the other classes so after fourth hour I had a bunch of people come up to me, saying, "So, I hear that you got the only 200/200 on the research paper, congratulations," which made me smile. I had a kid ask me to write his next paper for him (jokingly, of course, since I would never do that) and a a bunch of people congratulating me.
We watched "Like Water for Chocolate" in Spanish today and now I know why I didn't like the book when I was eight. It wasn't so much bad as kind of weird and went way over my head as an eight-year-old, I think.
I have to go to work in about an hour. . .I might wear my "borderline sandals" just to annoy Jane. That might be sort of disrespectful, though, so I don't know.
