New York Life

Hi everyone! So i've been living in NYC since the beginning of the month and it is amazing! One thing though, as you remember, I am here for grad school so I have work up the wazoo. I really feel like I've hit the ground running, every day is a race and weekends are even crazier because then you throw partying and hanging out into the mix!

Anyway, my college (which is a grad school at Columbia University) is like 80% female, it's insane. I am having estrogen overload. My building, which is mainly apartment style graduate housing is like 90% female. I think we are all already getting our periods at the same time hahahaha (if you dont understand, look it up). Strangely my program in Organizational Psychology is pretty evenly divided and so is Clinical Psychology, i guess the only dudes here are in the money making fields. pfft!

I've made alot of friends here, but it seems like a common grad school issue is that a lot of us hang out in giant hoards. Honestly, not my thing. I think all of these girls are awesome in their own way but its a known fact that people's social groups get smaller as they get older. I'm not the biggest fan of reverting back to a grade 6 sized social group. It will be good for some things though, like birthday parties and giant dinners. I never say never!
