{Good to be back! And good, at least it will not end up awkward, not fun being all entangled trying to work on all these different threads.}
Grateful to sit down underneath the comfortable shade provided, the young man took another sip of his water, offering some to Mana as well. It certainly was a picture perfect scene, such a nice place, he only hoped that she enjoyed being schooled in such a place, make new friends and become familiar with modern life and education. His only concern was if any smart-aleck teenag boy tried to flirt with her. She was still somewhat naive after all; perhaps he would need to look out his old biker knuckle dusters again...{XD}
As the curled up close together, he tightened the embrace, somehow registering that Mana wanted to be held, as if hiding from the rest of the world. Indeed, Amelda couldn't blame her, with her with him, he didn't need anything else. A world with just the two of them was all he could ever wish for, and he would do anything he could to provide her with the same happiness she gave him, no matter what any other people thought of them.
While basking in the calm atmosphere, and happily responding to their kiss, he listened kindly to her news, thankful that she was happy. "Well keep up the good work, I know it'll be a little hard to balance both magical and regualer studies, but I'm sure you can manage." he smiled. "But it's good you're having fun here as well..."
Eyes full of sympathy, he paused briefly at how she seemed slightly depressed at the thought of her old life and how nothing was left of it. He knew that feeling all too well himself, having everything you ever knew destroyed. "Oh Mana, I'm so sorry, I know...how it hurts to have all your memories torn away like that." he soothed, hugging her tenderly, relieved inwardly when she perked up again. "See, I knew I could trust you with my mothers things." the male grinned, toying with the bracelet a little before pulling out the necklace she had sent from under his shirt. "And I'm glad to say you're gift is being cared for as well."

"Thank you," Mana said as he offered the bottle. She took a dainty sip before returning it, noting that it had lost its refreshing coolness. Thankfully, there seemed to be a little bit of a breeze to take the edge off the heat. "We should go to an ice cream shop later, that'll help you cool off," she said, seeing that there was a little sweat glistening on his forehead.
She had made a few new friends in Cairo, but nobody else was as close to her as Amelda. Though there were more boys paying more attention to her now, she hadn't yet realized that their comments and compliments were attempts at flirting. As it was, Mana couldn't remember any of their words while curled up close to her boyfriend. That thought made her smile, as Amelda was the only thing on her mind and in her heart.
"I'll most definitely keep up, I wanna make you proud of me." Mana blushed. "It's been fun, but I've missed you, too."
The hug was exactly what she needed. It kept her from dwelling on such unpleasant things. "I'm all right, now that I'm here with you." She smiled again, happy beyond words to see that he was wearing her gift. She touched the necklace before shyly resting her hand on his chest. "Yay..."

As he leaned back to enjoy the cooling wind, and holding Mana close to his chest, Amelda closed his eyes in contentment. He was still a little flustered from the warmth, but at least it was better than it had been at the bazaar. But no matter how peaceful he was, he couldn't help but laugh to himself at Mana's suggestion. Well, she still craved sugary foods it seemed.
"And I'm sure it would satisfy your sweet tooth as well hmm?" he chuckled, nuzzling her. "Oh, and speaking of which..." he turned away for a second to fiddle around in his pocket, until he pulled out a a bright pink packet of a familiar sweet substance. "...I brought this in case you were missing it from not being in Japan anymore." the man smiled, handing her the packet of strawberry pocky.
Yes she was still a child, though having matured a little. Nevertheless, it was those qualities that Amelda loved about the magician, though he was weary of how this could be taken advantage of. He did worry a little about other boys around her age being around her. Of course he trusted Mana, just that he knew the way some of those boys would think, that they would be a lot less 'patient' with Mana in some instances. Well, if that was the case, he would just have to diregard his hopes for setting Raphael a better example, and start breaking a few noses himself.
"Hey, what's more important is that you get to where you want to be, as long as you're happy and trying your best I could never be disappointed in you." he smiled down at her. "It must be good to be back in your old home country as well, though I wouldnt like to be forgotten about." Amelda teased, bending down a little to kiss her neck.
Continuing the gentle administrations while holding her close in comfort, he hoped it would make her feel a little more at ease. It seemed he was successful, as he too touched the golden scarab pendant before resting his hand on top of hers, smiling softly. Unable to resist the innocent sweet look on her face, he eagerly tilted his head to the side, softly kissing her and stroking her face with his free hand tenderly. It was just perfect...

"Well, maaaaaybe," she replied coyly. Mana giggled as he nuzzled her and gasped delightedly at the Japanese confection. "Pocky!!! And strawberry, too, my favorite! Oh, thank you so much!"
She returned the smile back at him. "I could never forget you!" The "you" hitched in her throat as he kissed her neck, making a girlish squeak instead.
