GRINDY!
Went and saw a Grindhouse midnight showing at The Vista theatre. Absolutely an incredible experience. That said, it's defintely a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing. In case you couldn't tell, I loved it. There was only one kind of slow part at the beginning of Tarantino's feature, but overall it was pure awesome. The mock trailers (with Will Arnett's voice on one!) were hysterical as well.
Grindhouse has everything! Zombies, guns, fast cars, sexy women and lots of T&A, blood, gore, explosions, nurses, knife fights, car crashes, sleazy bars, sleazy characters, cursing and moxy. Highly recommended if that sounds fun to you.
I'll definitely get this on DVD when it comes out. It looks like for my foreign friends, you'll have to buy each feature separately if you want it, since double-features weren't a part of your culture.
Also, in closing, the Vista theatre is really awesome. I highly recommend seeing a movie there when you get a chance. And at $8 a ticket, well below the average ticket price around here (which is closer to $12), you can't go wrong!
