Shou looks at his wife’s naked form in the middle of the alchemy circles. Her pail skin is painted with various alchemical symbols. He watches as the twin glyphs for mercury he had painted on her breast rise and fall as he inhales and exhales. On her now flat stomach, the symbol for iron is painted, trying to compensate for the lack of iron in her own blood. Shou silently curses his wife’s diet for causing her anemia, however he has compensated for that. Shou slowly places his hands on the outer edge of the circle and begins to focus, feeling the familiar rush of energy. All the while he thinks this is a great opportunity to see the full potential of bio-alchemy.
