an alphabetical by picture name ordered tour of us 'climbing'. and climbing.
andrew [furthest] decided to explore the tiny areas between and under the massive boulders we had been climbing the outsides of all day. he came back a few minutes later and told us to follow, if we could.
this tunnel required an army crawl kind of manuever [walking the elbows, waddling with the thighs/hips] to get through, but surprisingly this wasn't the worst part
dino the crazy bastard he is decided to try and go up instead of straight. we convinced him it was a bad idea since if he were to fall [the 20ft or so] it wouldn't be a good landing.
this was the worst part. as far as small spaces go. the bottom half had a nice little butt groove that you could slide through, but it required weird and awkward bending your top half.
eric.
new friends taylor, neil, and andrew. and that's dino all the way on the left, if you were wondering.
HP40 rocks are sandstone. this particular boulder was more like a sand castle. pretty much the entire rock from my hand down brushed away whenever you tried to push off it. especially those smooth tan colored areas. p.s. i didn't send.
dino working on 'ghetto superstar'. he didn't send either. i was working on the problem that runs along the crack starting at his foot and goes out and up all the way to the left. no one ever takes pictures of me though :(
dino working on 'step child'. he didn't send this either but he made a lot of progress on both these climbs.
another picture from 'step child', really early on in the problem. i love the way this picture turned out.
eric working on 'hammerhead' [right next to 'step child'] with andrew spotting.
jackie on 'the low down'
and this is why we 'walk around with matresses on our backs'
the jesus traverse. no hands.
keith next to the mushroom rock
the trouble with taping hairy wrists
neil on 'mulitino'. this is the problem i was talking about when i mentioned no one takes pictures of me :( this move stole a chunk of skin off my right middle finger - picture to come later in this post 8x
taylor on the same problem on the same move
same person, same problem, next move
after seeing my finger someone suggested i go look for the skin i left behind. and it was right where i left it;
jackie really pushing it out on a v2. i love the picture in the series before this but eh.. for some reason i'm posting this instead.
sloppers make for desperate climbing sometime. taylor pulled this one through though.
a climb over to the left. there's a picture of this same climb a few up with 'jackie pushing it out'. i really like the look on taylors face.
you can see the other 160+ pictures here;
http://public.fotki.com/enemyofthesunn6/climb/hp40/thanksgiving-07/climbing-1/ you know that scene in 'the shining' when wendy is flipping through all the pages of 'all work and no play makes jack a dull boy'? i would have loved to have that job of typing up all those papers.
and there's nothing like watching this movie first thing in the morning.
