Suiting Up

The potions were bought, the weapons were ready, and everything was good to go. So it was that Link found himself facing the task that he had been putting off for quite some time. Not because it was particularly dangerous or unpleasant, no, but because it was something different from what he was accustomed to and he didn't really like different, thanks all the same. But now there was no getting around it.

He was going to have to get used to that vacsuit, whether he wanted to or not. He eyed the rubber-like garment distastefully; it just sat there, waiting. Taunting him.

With a sigh, he shucked off his equipment, shield clanging hollowly against the floor, boots, guantlets, and belt thrown in a haphazard pile. Next was the tunic, and after a moment's thought, the undershirt and leggings too. The undergarments he kept; no matter how advanced the thing was, he was NOT going without something between it and his skin.

Finally it was time. He took his sweet time pulling the thing on, making sure everything was situated comfortably in place; or at least, as comfortably as it could be, being a skintight garment. He had some trouble figuring out how it was supposed to seal shut, but eventually figured it out.

Finally he stood, in all his vacsuited glory. . . fidgeting. For one accustomed to stretchy leggings and loose tunics, the vacsuit was a very uncomfortable garment indeed. It wasn't really all that tight - no tighter than his usual attire, really - but it stretched differently than cloth, stretched in a way that somehow felt constricting, and he found he didn't much care for the difference. He rolled his shoulders uncomfortably, trying to see if he could get it to rest better; no luck. He stretched, first one side, then the other, testing the pull, trying to get used to the different feeling. Still nothing.

Well, he was just going to have to live with it, he decided. The tunic went back on, then, followed by the belt. Gauntlets and boots, too. He didn't really need them, but if it turned out that they'd need to go back to Hyrule, he wanted to look at least somewhat normal. After much deliberation, he decided to leave his weapons behind. The Fierce Deity carried his own sword, and that would be enough to get along with. With a great deal more reluctance, he also left his hat behind; He wanted to wear it, but the last thing he needed was it getting in the way of his helmet.

Deeming himself as ready as he was likely to be, he picked up his mask and the Ocarina of Time (Unlike the potions, the instrument had refused to stay "loaded" inside the mask when he had taken it off) and went to go meet the others. And not a moment too soon, either, as he heard Mewtwo's voice over the radio.
