[The dream makes Hungary chuckle partly because she remembers her own wedding announcement and how displeased she was about it as well. And the other half? Well, it's easy to tell that the princess has some feelings for the Prince.]

Are marriages not something you enjoy, Princess?

Not particularly.

Most countries share the same sentiment; we enjoy our independence. There are times though when we can't help it.

My betrothal has long been arranged. It simply surprised me that I would remember it here.

[And with that Persian as her consort, at that!]

Surely whoever you're betrothed to isn't that bad.

He was a Syrian merchant prince, from a very noble family. I had never met him before, but our union was set when we were children.

[A rueful little laugh.]

Then came the Persian invasion. Which rendered my city under martial law and me its prisoner. ...until things went very wrong.

[Sounds like what the Ottoman's did to her minus the whole marriage part.]

So I'm to assume the marriage to that Syrian prince is off?

So it would seem. King Sharaman, instead of approving my union to his eldest son, decided I would wed his youngest instead.

But many things have happened since that decree, so I suppose it makes little matter now.

I'm sure it will all work itself out in the end, Princess. If there is one thing history has taught me so far, it is that it usually does.

Mm, perhaps. But we are here, and things are very different.

[She has to smile at the next thought.]

At least here I am not bound by royal restraint.

[Hungary laughs kindly at that.]

At least there's that. You're adjusting better to Somarium then?

Yes, I suppose so. It's....still so very strange, but hopefully the worst is past.

[And it's nice to have Dastan "awake" again. At least she has someone to blame if things don't work.]

It does seem like things have settled down. Even if a lot of the cottages were damaged...did your residence suffer any damage?

[She tilts her head to the side with smile.] And I know that I've said this before, but if you should need anything, please don't hesitate to call.

I don't think so, no. Or at least, none that I've noticed. Although the horses were quite a chore.

Thank you, Elizaveta. I do appreciate your kindness.

Sisi was panicking when the destruction was happening. I had to go and calm her down although my husband was worried about my well being.

Not at all! I'm more than happy to offer any assistance I can.

That infernal stallion seemed to delight in escaping his stall and romping through the cold every time I went out to feed them. I was less than amused.

[The Princess snorts, decidedly annoyed with the Persian's ill-mannered beast.]
