I wasn't going to do this but looks like I need to write down all these thoughts and ideas percolating in my head. :) ( a lengthy and spoilery post under )
I've just finished gobbing up this drama a few days ago so I can read your posts on them, it's surreal how I have your exact thoughts and grumbles.
The was totally game and intrigued and madly addicted till around 13, 14, when the holes are too blatant and SH just forgets to use his head. Many of them did in the final act, actually and that was such a killjoy for a noir. Things are dumb down for a denouement that was quite predictable. Even when he's been put through all the trauma, he's not a newbie, he should have some agency to keep his head above it all somewhat.
It did loose some of it's lustre towards the end but not enough for me to give up on it. I still think it's pretty good overall and I liked the ending, despite all. Best part; the main characters, even if the writer sorta dropped the ball with Shi Hyun a few times. Choi Moo Sung and Kim Yoo Mi were the stand out ones but I think Jung Kyung Ho did very well with the material given.
