The Blade and Petal
As expected, it did not go down well with the masses. I'm vastly amused at reading all these posts about the ways it sucks. People just don't get the concept at all. Well, I was pretty sure most would not. I'm not a fan of the directors style. I didn't like it in White Christmas nor in Equator Man but the funny thing is, it does not bother me in the least in TB&P. I think he has finally found a media to let all his grandiose artistic ideas come to roost. The things that annoyed me most with the modern day dramas seem to fit TB&P to a T. The thing is, will his artistic choises carry the story all the way through without it becoming style for style's sake? In the 1st two episodes the style had a purpose but for how long will that last and not become an annoying gimmic. Guess time will tell.

Monstar
Sigh. They just had to add totally unnecessary angst. I could have done without it, thxb. I'm also getting wary of the 'love triangle'... or is it a quadrangle now. Whatever. Can't you guys sort that out already so we can get back to the friendships? Sung Woo is beginning to try my patience. Sol Chan is still ma boy though.^^

Nine
I resumed my watch but it's still not grabbing me the way I initially thought it would. It's nicely put together, well written, has a pretty good cast, it's a genre I like and yet.... I feel like it's missing an ingredient that would make it a 'must marathon now!'. Watched 2 episodes today but did not feel any urge to continue.

I've also watched 3 epis of Empire of Gold but it needs it's own 'first impressions' post so I'll get back to it after I'm done with ep 4. It's been quite riveting so far.
