The Blade and Petal - thoughts after ep 2

Jul 04, 2013 23:14

I still don't know quite what to make of it. It's a strange beast and you can't be quite sure which way it'll jump. Keeps you on your toes, I suppose. :)

There was more talk today so I'll need a re-watch with subs to get through all the politicking. I'm pretty sure I know what went down though, just by paying attention to all the people involved. Kim Young Chul and Choi Min Soo are awesome. You can practically cut the tension with a knife whenever the king and generalissimo have scenes together. It's a joy to watch two actors of this calibre going at it. I think generalissimo got pawned today. With all the players seemingly in place now, it's time to get a move on to the story proper.

As predicted, lot of people don't get this drama at all. It's hard to make the silence speak and even harder to hear it. Sure, the 1st epi was cheasy in places but that was intentional, we were ment to chuckle at the absurity of the scenes.

Not really making any sense now, am I? Better head off to bed before I fall asleep right here.
