I should really be tackling one of the school assignments (and we were told we'd not get any for summer - yeah, right), possibly the one that's due at the end of the month but..... it's WAY too muggy to do anything of substance. So, I'm going to blather about dramas. Feel free to scroll past.....
Have an awesome song as a kick off...
Wound by Kim Yong Jin from the Heartless City OST - I love, love, love this song!

I'm going to drop Shark. I tried to get into it, I really did but it's a no go. I don't know what the hell happened to the writer but the story is so very uninspiring and boring. Even fraking Cyrano Dating Agency has more to offer. Sigh. I'm in totally agreement with MrX on this one:
I’ll be the first to say that I’ll take a structurally sound drama with a strong layer of thematic consciousness over something that only does the minutiae well. But it’s clearly an issue when those minutiae become significant enough to impact the whole - case in point, all the silly mistakes that litter the script, from the exposition to the literary platitudes filling the dialogue. Those imperfections are conspicuous enough to turn functional conventions into formulaic expedients. And even with the good acting, Park’s solid but slightly underwhelming direction and a captivating narrative core, that is what most stands out.
Heartless City on the other hand continues to be mainly awesome. It's not perfect, there are a few blemishes but so far they have been minor and haven't affected the overall flow of the show. Still, I'm a bit taken a-back by the 'hatred' towards Lee Jae Yoon's Hyung Min. Yes, the guy acts like an oaf at times but he's not totally unfeeling, just more focused on getting the job done, using any means he can. In fact, I think that Dr's Son is a bit too emotional when it comes to certain characters and it'll probably be his undoing in the end. LJY is not a very nuanced actor and that probably works against the character. He hasn't been able to make the viewers root for Hyung Min the way the script calls for. It's even more marked when he's acting against someone as good as Jung Kyung Ho, who's beyond wonderful in his role. God, his eyes speak volumes. Lot of great to good acting all around.
I haven't talked about TEN at all for some reason and yet, it's my 2nd favourite drama right now, LOL! They somehow managed to toss away all the bling of S1, so what we get now is solid. All the way from writing, to directing to acting. Even the individual cases are more interesting and better done. Anyone wanting a drama that has a more realistic take on police work should check TEN out. It's brain over brawn with this lot. :) The Team - it's even more welded together now that they got most of the baggage from the F-case sorted out. They work in sync like a well oiled machine. There's a secret that'll probably come back to bite Ye Ri and Do Shik in the ass so they better find a way to disclose that one asap.
Monstar is still my preferred bit of fluff. XD It's funny how much I'm actually enjoying the story. I'm really fond of all the kids and rooting for them to get their tangled relationshps sorted out before the contest. Snotty 'One For All' has to be beaten! ^^
