[Narvin's feeling pissy. He's been stabbed, shot, and mind-punted by Seven when he was poking his telepathy where it didn't belong. He's spent the end of last week drugged in the infirmary and many days after that in a Time Lord healing trace for most of each day. He is so very much not feeling up to waging a political fight.]
I approve of Ardent's work in the library and personally think he could run the day-to-day operations responsibly and with devotion. As I've stated before, I am willing to be his official supervisor, but I will, of course, defer to the majority opinion, so if Agent Kay, Arthur, and Chromie prefer to take charge I won't object. I do, however, recommend they meet with Ardent and Coyolxauhqui and involve them in the decision-making process, such as establishing rules and punishments, as they've both been working in the library for a very long time, are quite dedicated, and I'm sure would appreciate some voice in the operations of the place in which they have worked so hard.
[Private to Ardent]
There. My word has been kept. To the letter. I have volunteered to run the library and said something to the effect that I would approve of you running it.
I may have added a few other things, too, as I'm sure you noticed, but refraining from expounding further on any point of library administration was never part of any of our agreements.
I included an appeal that they work with you and not over you, because I am on your side, but I cannot arbitrarily declare myself dictator of the library and I will not start a fight with wardens I respect over a matter as inconsequential as this. The books will be protected. You, Coyolxauhqui, and three good wardens will see to it.
[One can't be a bureaucrat for as long as Narvin has been without knowing how to find loopholes.]
politics is a time lord sport,
time lords make long speeches,
team xenophobia!,
war of the library,
narvin is a lying liar who lies,
narvin is a bureaucrat
