look! I'm posting!
I have decided that my friend Neil's laptop is not slow due to a virus, but rather incompetent due to being forever stoned.
After clicking a link, twenty seconds pass in which the computer does nothing at all before it suddenly goes "OH! right..." And begins 'finding '
a good three minutes later it moves on to the 'opening page' phase, I could swear it was sitting there having a stoned conversation with the site before displaying it.
when returning to a page i'd seen before, it usually gives me the DNS error 'Page not found'
"Sorry man... i don't know where it is, man.."
"But i was just there. You should have all the files in your temp and everything."
"yeah... yeah, man i know! But the thing is, man... I don't know where it is, you know?"
"Lazy ass stoner laptop. I do you."
the IBM 'thinkpad', it is named.
OH my GOD i just typed a hell alot of stuff after the above. I don't know which to hate; the site, or the computer. I'll bet its the computers fault. I wanted to add some flavor to my text, some BOLD and some italic and some colorful visuals, you know? Rich text; Some hi-fi bling for the typing.
but clicking 'rich text' didn't do jack, until I told it to go ahead and update the journal.
"What, man? you said something about rich text right? i got that. Hold on for ten minutes."
"No, no... just send the post, update the- aw damn."
So i had to retype things. and lose the profound answers to life the universe and everything (other than 42) that were written within this very post at one time, never to be seen by the eyes of ... those that.. look upon it. ...anymore. And now I cannot single space by pressing enter, which is dumb. If that is a fault of rich text, rich text is dumb. If it is a fault of mine, well, big surprise.
And now i'll see if i can't resume writing something more productive.
