Hullo. I come bearing a colour page of the manga series Vampire KnightI am by far not satisfied with the outcome of this, but whatever. Took me long enough

Seriously? I honestly have never looked at Kaname this way XD I do believe that he really cares for Yuuki and that he really loves her. I mean, you're probably right that he also loves that hooded woman. But she has been long gone and she's probably the reason why he always felt so terribly lonely. Yuuki sort of led him out of his loneliness and protected him that way. So, from his point of view I'd say he's properly in love with her. But for Yuuki. Hmmn, I always felt that she was more admiring him for being the big awesome vampire who saved her when she was a child. Maybe she's even lusting for him, but it's always quite off. At least I think so. By the end of the second arc (just after she became a vampire) I got the strong intention that she only went with Kaname because she was sorry for him. He would have been lonely all over again. I can probably understand all the Yume fans out there (if there only wasn't the incestuous part of their relationship - they are still related) but I still don't feel it. Kaname is waaaay too creepy and manipulative. That's probably why I never really liked the idea of him ending up with Yuuki. Now, with Zero on the other hand... that's a different story <3
I'm rambling sorry XD I just feel like it after the new chapter came out. Also, your icons just as sexy :D
You know, you're probably right. X3 I just can't get over this feeling that he's pushing Yuuki and Zero both together for some reason, a reason he'll keep hidden until the very last. And, as you've pointed out, Kaname is quite manipulative. That's why it's easy for me to believe that all the things he's said to her could just be him guiding her in a certain direction, and the words themselves aren't exactly real. They probably are, but I'm very suspicious given his track record.
I agree about Yuuki. I feel that she thinks it's her responsibility to be in love with Kaname and she can't leave him to be lonely, as you said. Yuuki always seems to just go to Zero without thought, but with Kaname, she thinks, "Ooh, I can't let him get lonely. He seems so sad. I can't leave him to himself like that." aside from lusting over him. I will be honest, I can't blame her. Buuut, yeah.. when I found out about Kaname being Yuuki's brother, I was put off by the idea. Then, you find out that he's just her ancestor. Along with that, the vampire generations aren't that far apart, so he could just be her great-great grandfather. Still too close for my liking. I like Kaname's character, but if I saw him paired with anyone at all, it would have to be Sara... strangely enough! Both characters would challenge the other; both are cunning strategists. It would give some kind of growth to them as individuals. I know it's a stretch, but I don't really see any other character being that much of a challenge for him. With Kaname and Yuuki, there is no real growth, in my opinion. Kaname just shelters Yuuki and she remains naive and ignorant of things that could possibly harm/kill her.
When it comes to Zero and Yuuki, Zero challenges Yuuki. Because of his love for her, he wants her to be stronger. The last part of 73 proves this. <33333 In the beginning, he felt it necessary to keep things from Yuuki to protect her, but now he realizes that Yuuki is in a situation she still doesn't completely understand and he must act. Hino once said that Zero represents her hesitant side. Well, he's not hesitating anymore. X3 And, along with that, Yuuki challenges Zero. I find it fascinating how the situation of one character accentuates the other. Zero's and Yuuki's relationship isn't easy, and I think that's what I like so much about it.
You rambling? Pssh! XD I think I'm rambling. ROFL Thankies!!!! ^///^
True, true. With Zero every conversation always seemed pretty natural (when they were still at school together). Every time she met up with Kaname it somehow always felt... forced? Even now, Yuuki admitted to Zero that she wants to go back to the times when they were talking naturally with each other. She misses those times which, for me, is a clear indicator that she's always loved him. The only problem is that Zero was always there, he was sort of taken for granted. Now that she sees that he's gotten so far away from her she starts panicking.
Zero on the other hand. Sigh. Seriously, I have a thing for broken, angsty characters. Zero is probably on top of my list when it comes to that aspect of characterisation. Maybe Aidou's comment about how he'd go and get what he wants did stir something up. The fact that he's so active at the moment only shows that, I think. What's amazing is that he acts selflessly. He knows that Yuuki needs help right now and he is offering it to her. Kaname can also be protective (even though possessive can be the right word) but the way Zero does this is more subtle and more natural to me. Damn, he even once said that he'd give his life for her only just to make sure that she's okay.
Hmm, could be possible that Kaname is still playing some imaginary chess on an enormous imaginary chessboard. But still, it would be incredibly reckless of him if he underestimated the tension that has been built up between Yuuki and Zero. I once read this (still crazy) theory that Kaname is probably going to wipe out every last Pureblood there is. His final move would be to kill himself and Yuuki off so that there is no one left. And then Zero appears as the knight in shining armour who saves the day XD It's a crack theory but I like the drama.
Took the words right from my mouth. :3 Some are arguing that she misses those times with Zero because she misses their friendship, but it's clearly obvious that she has fallen in love with him. I like how her love for him was by complete accident. It just happened. With Kaname, it's more like her admiration was consciously morphed into something more.
Ooh, me too! I love the broken, damaged, and misunderstood characters. I was instantly attracted to Zero's character from the very first chapter/episode. Yeah, I kinda think that Aidou feels a bit sorry for Zero to some degree lol. Zero's situation is so heart-breaking. <3333
Yes, possessive is far more appropriate. The way Kaname protects her is so loud. I do find Zero's more subtle acts very endearing. He just steps in when needed and steps back. He's not over-bearing or excessive.
HAHAHA! You know, my friend and I have discussed that theory. XDDD
