Beautifully done. Just the little gestures, the closeness displayed between them, very well written. I completely understand facing irrational fears. I'm terrified of clowns, but when my sister was little she really wanted to go to the circus. So I shoved down my heeby Jeebies and took her. I spent days afterwards having nightmares, but I went through the entire trip without a complaint because I knew my sister was having fun, and that was all that mattered. I'm glad Jack understands Ianto's need to face his fears. :)

Aww thank you, that's a lovely comment.

Well done for facing up to the clowns! I'm impressed and I hope your sister appreciated it!
I'm scared of spiders. If I'm on my own I will eventually psych myself up to deal with them, but if there is someone I can get to do it for me I will! If I'm with someone who's more scared than me I will generally deal with it. One time my house mate had a huge one on her pillow. I was absolutely hysterical, crying and shaking like a leaf but I got a pint glass over it and picked up the glass and pillow and threw them out onto the front lawn. Neither of us dared check to see if the spider was gone or hiding in the pillow -we left them on the lawn all day until her boyfriend came home. The neighbours must have thought we were weird!

I'm sure she appreciated it. She was I think six at the time and I was her hero, so I couldn't very well disappoint her. I'm not fond of spiders either, too many legs and eyes for something so small. They are creepy and evil. My roommates are more scared of them than I am though, so I get elected to deal with them. And who cares what the neighbors think, normal is waaaaaaaaay over-rated, hehe.

Aww but the tentacle pieces are the best part of the calamari and they are soooo tiny. Most of my family would disagree but that is because they find those parts tougher than the rings.

Poor Ianto. It will be okay. Jack will save the day.

I wouldn't know what the best part of calamari is. I've not eaten meat since I was 6 and that is one of the things I never got around to trying.

Ianto doesn't need Jack to save the day. Just wants him to be supportive when he tries to face his fears.

Lol in Jack's mind I'm sure he thinks he's saving the day.

Poor Ianto, I am quite similar to him, I used to be afraid of heights so I started to practice rock climbing, a bit extreme but effective.
I love the way you describe their closeness through those small gestures of love and comprehension!

Thanks.
I wish we had seen more of their interaction on the show. But I guess that's what fan fic is for. I'm pleased the little gestures worked for you. I didn't want to make it too in your face but they are close and they know each other well enough that little gestures are all that are needed.

Rock climbing is a bit extreme... but well done for facing your fears! Ianto would be proud of you :-)

Awww, Ianto!

I wouldn't eat calamari if you paid me, for the completely opposite reason - I love tentacled creatures and hate the thought of killing them for food.

I'm scared of spiders too, but like Ianto I've learned to cope with them though I won't hanfle anything biggr than a centimetre across.

Jack is so caring and understanding, and he admires Ianto for what he tried to do rather than laughing at him. Sometimes he gets it right.

I wouldn't eat it either - I haven't eaten meat of any kind for over twenty years now.

I don't like spiders. I can cope with ones at that kind of size - it's when we get the huge house spiders, which with their legs stretched out can be around 10cm, that I go all hysterical. They are just creepy. They have far too many legs and are too quick and unpredictable. They always seem to run towards you. *Shudder*. And it is spider season now :-(

Jack was really sweet and caring... He can be sometimes :-)

Thank you.

Yeah, it is. I've had to evict several recently. Came out of the bathroom one night to see one scampering along the landing. we keep empty 2 pint plastic milk containers and pieces of flat cardboard at strategic places around the house for spider catching. That way they can be quickly caught wherever they are and left in the container with the lid on overnight, then dumped outside in daylight. I won't put them out at night because then I can't see which way they go, lol!
