Ohh, nicely done! This seems so plausible it feels like it was cut out of the episode! (For length, maybe. :-p)
Gwen is annoying but she means well. Thank goodness Ianto is there to articulate what Jack cannot. He always has trouble communicating about Flat Holm. It's just too traumatic for him, and now we have another reason why.
Are you still brainstorming for your Wild Card square?
Poor Jack! Gwen keeps expecting him to be capable of anything, just because he comes from the future. She never stops to realise that being from the future doesn't make him all-knowing and all-powerful, he's not a scientist, or a doctor, he's a soldier of sorts. Even in the future, people have to learn skills and no one can learn everything. She needs to stop acting as if Jack is some kind of super-being with all the answers at his fingertips and start treating as what he is - an ordinary man.
At least Ianto understands the limits of Jack's abilities and how much it hurts him to not be able to fix everything. He supports Jack and gives him strength and courage while all Gwen does is resent him for not being what she wants him to be - the all-powerful hero.
Thank you. Thats a lovely comment. I'm pleased the point I was making came across. Gwen has Jack on a pedestal and he can't possibly live up to all of her expectations. But he wants to help and be the hero so much that it hurts him when he cant do it. But ianto understands and is there to remind him he's only human, and ianto loves him for who is is. Gwen thinks she loves him for who she wants him to be.

That is the nicest compliment you could give!
Gwen does mean well but I still want to hit her, quite often.
I am still brain storming. I'm thinking maybe something based on Greeks bearing gifts - I dont think I have enough tosh stories.
