Those who say and truly believe "anything free is worth nothing" (or something of the like- the general statement) are living in the material world, unfortunately for them.
If only more than a handful here, and some there knew that the greatest possessions came from within, life would be bliss, not ignorance. Ignorance is bliss because it means you don't have to deal with anything (in a loosely stated way- but that's aside from the topic.)
If more people who lived in a materialistic, judgmental and unbalance world would truly open their eyes, their minds they would see- "The greatest gifts ARE, indeed free" (quote-me, unless it's been written, which I wouldn't doubt.) Some of the greatest gifts include LOVE- what a wondrous, indescribable, unsurmountable feeling, Life- given freely from one to another, mother to infant-though brought into a cruel world it's their challenge to overcome and see its beauty, its magnificence, Sympathy- something of which not many possess any longer, it's a true virtue to hold and to have, to be so mature and recognize downfalls, flaws, misfortune, etc...(I ask of you, do not be confused between sympathy and pity) To receive any of these, and many more, is certainly a gift indeed, alone to read this you were given life.
Happiness though, is not one of these in some cases, something must be done to receive happiness from an inanimate object, it's a feeling that fills in a temporary gap- where as true happiness comes from within, is held, and cherished in abundance.
As I said, there are a great many more- some of which certain people will never experience, nor will they care to. I warn you- don't involve yourself too much in worldly value, hold onto what gives you hope, gives you dreams....
