She could feel that her arm was wet and warm, but she didn't want to look. Something was off about how it felt, like something pulsing around her. When she finally did look, it wasn't her who turned her head, but the other inside her. Ultimecia. Something strange and cruel fell from her lips, and she heard the crowd yell in surprise and false joy - they had to for they didn't want to be the next one to die.

The president was already dead even as she lifted his corpse and flung it aside, her arms extending wide as if to embrace her audience. She couldn't stop this anymore than she could move her own feet. Already she could hear her footsteps on the float, hear the heavy beating of the music as they drifted out into the sea of people. There were dancers covering the city streets, celebrating her. No not her, the other. The unmentionable. If only they knew it wasn't her, would they help her. Likely not. Silly thoughts.

Next came the crashing of the gate, but how did she already know. Struck by a strange sense of deja vu, she felt it coming even before she heard it. Next would come the gunshot and then that awful falling sensation.

BANG!

The toucan awoke with a start, though she managed to keep herself from making any noise. Edea didn't think she could stand to hear another squawk come from her beak - it might start to drive her mad, or moreso than she already was. Her feathers twitched with unease as she ruffled them, stretching her uncomfortable limbs as she roused herself from sleep. This form was so disorienting, and it didn't help that she hadn't even managed to stand on her two feet yet. That was sure to be an entirely different kind of endeavor once she regained the strength to do so.

edea kramer, sephiroth
