What is the biggest mistake you've made in a relationship?

Pride -- no question about it. And that subcategory of pride, making the presumption that someone must be inferior to you simply because of surface details.

Or else you have time to drag your problems out over eons. But I was very young when this happened, and I was fortunate that for all his eccentricities, the Doctor was willing to give that second chance.

I have a feeling, Doctor, that being friends with you during the Academy was likely very exciting, fun, distracting...and wreaked utter hell with their ability to keep up with classwork.
