It was early in the morning, but Allen was used to waking at this hour. He enjoyed the pale sunlight, the still-crisp air not yet warmed by the day, and the songs of birds breaking the near silence

Lenalee emerged from the tent fully dressed, and with a smile, if a bit of a nervous one. She hadn't always liked early mornings, but in a place like this, outside, it was beautiful. Every single one was different.
"I don't think anyone in town will be up this early, Allen."
Allen blinked for a moment, then laughed softly; he had forgotten that.
"Ah, that's all right." Well, they were already up, so they might as well get going, he supposed. "We should get some food first. And it might be easier looking without so many people around."
Food seemed to be most of what Allen thought about. It made sense, she thought, based on the way he ate it. A part of Lenalee had already set itself to not eat for the day if it meant Allen had to buy food for her.
"Do you think anyone is going to...recognize us?" There was a little fear in her voice, with good reason.
Allen tilted his head and thought for a moment. "They might, if they've been to the circus. But," he continued, sensing that fear, "I don't think anyone really got a good look at us, and we're not going to go dressed in our costumes today..."
"I'm sorry, Allen." Lenalee bit her lip, but forced herself to look at him instead of the ground. "It's probably going to scare me. You don't have to take me with you if you'd rather not deal with that."
"Ah, all right." Not wanting to delay much longer, Allen grabbed a (few) sandwich(es), shoving one in his mouth as he beckoned and headed towards town.

"Ah, can we... eat breakfast first?"

And Timcanpy proved him wrong by flying into the food tent and coming out with a sandwich before chomping on it.
"Ah... Maybe he does..."
