Your Name/what you go by: Jibrille
AIM/E-mail/contact info - some way of reaching you: AIM: daddykeikei / NieveEvershine - MSN: dotheimpossible@hotmail.it - email: nanami@torancastle.net
Your character's name (last, first): Roy (no last name was ever provided in canon)
Series your character's from: Genso Suikoden V
Background info on your character:

Growing up on the streets, Roy had to overcome many hardships in his young life. Yes, he's a thief, a bandit, but it is certainly not those talents that made him play a key role in the game.

You see, what's most exceptional about this boy is his strong resemblance to the Prince of the Queendom of Falena, Frejyadour Falenas.

Because they had the same face, but such different lifestyles, Roy grew angry with the spoiled, pampered prince. It was not really fair, was it? That was exactly why he accepted Euram Barrows' job offer; to dress up as the prince and rob the citizens of Sable, sullying Frejyadour's name.

Why exactly did Euram want such a thing, however? To understand that, we need to take a quick look at what happened earlier on in Suikoden V.

Two years before the start of the game, the House of Barrows built a dam near Lordlake. Unfortunately, the construction of the dam filled the Feitas River with debris, contaminating the water supply of the village.

Understandably, the citizens grew angry and decided to march to the construction site in protest. They were not out looking for violence, however the garrison captain (Euram) panicked as he witnessed the large crowd, and ordered his garrison to assault the people and to disperse them by force.

Because there were too many people, the soldiers were quickly overwhelmed and their effort only resulted in further angering the citizens, who destroyed the dam as a result. Still not satisfied, the crowd chose to lodge a formal protest with the Queen, and marched to Sol-Falena.

Hearing of the incident, Salum Barrows (Euram's father and the Barrows' leader) took this opportunity to get what he wanted and ordered his own men to infiltrate the group. He wanted his men to loot the East Palace upon passing it and steal the Dawn Rune, one of the most important treasures of the Queendom of Falena.

Lordlake was believed responsible of this action, and, using the power of the Dawn Rune, then Queen Arshat inflicted a harsh punishment on the village.
The area surrounding it was decimated, and a fortress was made where the dam had stood before, blocking all the water that would have normally flowed there. Medical assistance was also prohibited, and the citizen of Lordlake were left to themselves, without any kind of help.

Despite all their attempts to hide the truth, it was revealed later.
Wanting to know how Lordlake was doing, Arshtat sent the prince to go look at it together with Sialeeds (her sister), Lyon (Freyjadour's bodyguard), and Georg (one of the Queen's knights).

Upon arriving, the shocking reality of the town made the prince's heart tremble. After he reported the situation of Lordlake to the queen, his father, in order to distract him, made him help out with the preparation of the Sacred Games; a traditional fighting competition in which the winner would gain the right to marry the princess.

The games were held shortly afterwards, and although the best contestant were either Gizel Godwins or Euram Barrows' gladiators (Euram Barrows did not have to fight for himself, he could hire someone to do that for him), an unexpected outsider, Belcoot, made things much more interesting.

As both the Godwins and the Barrows would have used the games to gain more power, the royal family placed their hopes on the outsider, and Ferid even asked the prince to keep an eye on him.

Even though that proved to be a good move, it was still fruitless. Gizel managed to get Zegai (Euram's champion) disqualified and had Belcoot drugged; this way, Childerich, his own gladiator, won the Games. Although the prince got to discover what the man was really up to, he didn't have any sort of evidence, which made the royal family unable to interfere.

Ferid did, however, take custody of Zegai, hoping he could help to reveal what had truly happened. Trying to prevent it, Godwin assaulted the palace on the night of the engagement ceremony, and, with the help of the elite assassins from Nether Gate, they managed to kill the Queen and Ferid and managed to capture Lymsleia.

Frejyadour, Sialeeds, Lyon and Georg managed to escape, but they were quickly found. In this situation, they had no choice but to accept help from Salum Barrows. He did not only hide them but also got his own allies to help the prince defeat a small troup sent by the Godwins to capture him. This was the beginning of the "Rebel army", which later on will be known as the Loyalist Army.

As Sialeeds saw how Salum's motives could not be anything but selfish, she proposed to free the exceptionally skilled tactician Lucretia Merces from prison and have her join the prince's cause. Because of this, they were later able to prevent being associated with Armes (an enemy nation who had tried to invade falena), as Salum had planned. Because of Lucretia's advice, the group was also able to find out the truth about Lordlake's uprising as well as the theft of the Dawn Rune, who chose the prince as its bearer once it was found..

With their misdeeds revealed, the Barrows lost their reputation as well as all of their allies. Not being able to stand it, Euram couldn't do anything but plot revenge and having Roy dress up as the prince was the best way to do it; that way, he could have ruined the prince's campaign and reputation, just as the prince had done with the Barrows.

However, word spread fast and soon the prince himself found Roy's hideout in Mount Ranro, determined to confront and stop the bandit.

It was there that Roy explained his own reasons for impersonating the prince, how he did it all for fun and how he enjoyed embarrassing F., a spoiled boy who did not deserve the great life he lead. He even stated how unfair it was that he, on the other hand, had to live a hard life on the streets.

For Lyon, Frejyadour's bodyguard, that was simply too much to hear. Much to Roy's displeasure, she replied saying that he was just being selfish and childish, and that a lot of other unfortunate people had chosen to live an honest life instead of leading one of deceit and thieving like Roy did

Although he was originally going to give up, Roy got so angry at those words that he challenged F. to a one on one duel, stating that if Frejyadour won, he could do whatever they wanted him to, but should Roy win, he would take Frejyadour's place as the prince.

Unfortunately for Roy, he lost. Prepared for the worst, Faylen and Faylon, Roy's best friends and assistants rushed into the room, begging to spare Roy's life and saying that he had been forced into the act and that they still had everything they had stolen with them, so they could return it.

Roy, however, told them to stop, claiming he really did it for his own enjoyment.

Learning how the boy had been put up to the idea, Sialeeds realized that the one behind the scheme couldn't be anyone else but Euram Barrows. Granted with special permission from her nephew, the woman came up with a plan to lure out the foolish young noble; a plan that, of course, was successful in the end.

Noticing how Roy's looks made him a good double for the prince, something useful to be used to confuse the enemy, Sialeeds proposed to have the boy join the Loyalist Army. Seeing as he was still bound by his promise from the duel, Roy agreed. That was how he came to be an important member in Freyjadour's forces. Just like Sialeeds predicted, Roy became useful in many of the campaigns conducted during the wars in the end. Most notably when he fools the Godwin faction into thinking the Loyalist Army had relocated itself in Raftfleet, or during the New Queen's Campaign, where he successfully distracted Alenia's troop with the help of the sorceress Zerase.

Although he promised not to wear his prince costume in the castle, he did it several times, causing quite a lot of trouble and confusion among the other members, going as far as to bet (and lose) a huge amount of money while pretending to be Freyjadour

Roy is a very blunt and perhaps a bit vulgar boy, and always speaks his mind. However, this does not mean that he's a honest person (quite obvious, considering he is a thief). He also doesn't speak openly about his true feelings and thoughts easily.

You really could say he's quite the tsundere type, choosing to say "Humpf, I don't care about you!" rather than "I like you.

He has a very big ego (more often than not, he compliments himself on his brilliant ideas), and he's quite prideful and touchy. As such, he gets offended really, really easily. Although, whenever he does, he tries to hide it and starts having a "too bad for you" kind of attitude.

In a scene with Lyon, where she refuses to go with him instead of with the prince (just so they could "fool the enemy easier") he gets particularly offended and leaves, telling her not to look for him. He then starts to mumble about how he'll eventually show her how Freyjadour is not special at all.

Speaking of Lyon, Roy has an amazingly huge crush on her, a crush he developed when the girl effectively saw through him and scolded him at the time he dueled with the Prince.

He tries to get her attention (especially away from the prince) at all times, hoping to impress her. Most of the time, however, he's terribly unsuccessful, and that annoys him to no end.

Lyon is also the only one who can easily see through his prince disguise.

Undoubtedly, Roy has many, many bad traits. He is selfish, somewhat childish, and loves getting Freyjadour in trouble. He's very sarcastic, and openly makes fun of others. He can be somewhat difficult to get at first.

However, he has very good traits as well. While he does not openly show it, he cares deeply for his friends, and can't stand anything bad happening to them: when Lyon gets heavily injured after Sialeeds's betrayal, he gets extremely mad at Freyjadour, going as far as to blame him for it. He can also be quite cheerful and easily excited, and really, if he's not going in tsun tsun mood, he can be quite funny.

Roy can be somewhat silly, especially when he's in his prince disguise. Since he has to act regal, he tries to speak in an archaic manner, using "thou", "thine", "yon" and things like that, ignoring the fact that people don't really talk that way anymore. Not even royals.
Of course, there are times where his real personality slips, which is why while his face is the same as Freyjadour, it is easy to see something's off (not really that he’s a fake, just a "Wow, today the prince is totally strange!" kind of vibe).

If, during the game, you don't leave the castle when the Armes Army is about to attack, you trigger a scene where he takes the prince’s place in order to protect his life (and possibly to show off), and challenges Childerich in a duel to make him and the soldiers leave. Despite Roy's winning the duel, he gets killed by the soldiers (who did not respect the deal). Even while dying, he does not give up his proud attitude, and when the Nether Gate soldier laughs at him for "being a fool who just got himself killed", he laughs back, stating that he's the foolish one, for not getting he was a fake.

In that scene, his last thought goes to Lyon, as he pictures her beautiful smile in his head.

Before coming to Island, Roy was in front of the Loyalist Army castle's infirmary, hoping for Lyon to recover. I'm taking him from after the New Queen's Campaign, where Lyon got injured by Dolph (a Nether Gate assassin).

Sample post: (First person point of view, please)
[I am making Roy wears his princely costumes here]

All right, I got it. I'm on a freakin' stupid Island while he is probably with her right now.
Why does that idiot always get the best chances anyway?! I'm bettin' she's gonna wake up and feel all right now that I ain't around no more! And he'll be the hero again, damn it! That idiot even screwed up and got her hurt, I don't get what's so great about that pampered prince!

Whatever! If he somehow manages to get her too, I ain't gonna let him have a nice time! I'm gonna ruin his reputation as best as I can, and we'll see if he'll have the guts to say somethin'! That spoiled idiot really can't do anything if Lyon or someone else isn't with him anyway, I mean, all right, he might have been lucky and defeated me, but personality-wise? He's a goddamn princess! Like hell he'll actually try an' do anything!
