Fuckity, fuck, fuck! The saga continues.....
Icecicles in the attic and fucking HUGE ones hanging from the eaves. I knock the ones outside down every day.
So, the water has stopped coming in the spare bedroom window and the loft window. Yay!!! However, there is still water coming out the door. This time, it is outside and I have icecicles hanging from the door and door frame. Argh. Ice is hanging from the sides of the house. And now, there is a steady stream of water coming into the basement. I taped a plastic bag to the wall that runs into a bucket. It gets most of it, but the carpet is still getting wet. I can see water in the wood framing above, but there is no way to stop it. I moved the snow and ice away from the house, but it did not help. The garage was getting water yesterday, so we started clearing the garage today. It does not look like it is going to get better until the ice dams melt. Here is to hoping.
Still no word on the truck. I hope that it is not bad.
We tried to call our insurance company today. No luck. No one would answer. Either the office was closed today or they were busy with claims due to the weather. Who knows. I just hope that maybe they will be able to cover some of the damages.
Well, I'll keep you all informed. Hope everyone is doing better than we are. Though, as my wife has said, at least we are not dead.
