I have survived!
The Renaissance festival, as far as I can tell, was a complete success! I had good shows (the pirate show and the cloak & daggers were great) and good music. I had a lot of support from others, who were not a part of the fair, but offered verbal approval. Most importantly, I have a cast that I do not deserve. Their devotion to the fair and appreciation for my directing was very moving. I wanted to cry, because I was so moved.
Planning for next year will start in a few months. There is a chance that we will be unconnected from the goetta fest next year. Main Strasse Village Assoc. has been very supportive of our fair and we have grown so much over the past two years that it may warrant us becoming our own event! Won't know for a while, but I will keep my fingers crossed. If it happens, I am pondering not performing at all at our fair next year. There will be too much to do just directing. I am not bothered by this; I am actually very excited about the idea!
All in all, I am very happy with the results of our fair and I am looking forward to next season.
