In Mikoto's short life, there had been a lot of staring at colored lights. Living on Terra, all of the Genomes (herself included) had spent many hours staring at the blue light. It 'calmed' them, speaking to the potential within them to hold a soul, to continue the life of the dying world beneath their feet.

So, it stood to reason, that as the sky began to grow pink, Mikoto had become more and more curious about it. The face of Gaia had changed so much, that even it's natives found themselves in a foreign world. While the blue light had spoken to Terra's people of a possible hope and calm, this pink light brought feeling of uneasy to Mikoto; feelings of things long buried, a past that would not die.

And so, when it game to engulf her senses, she was not exactly surprised, so much as reassured of that ominous feeling that had lingered at the back of her mind. When it cleared, it was as though she had stepped back in time. The village in the woods these days, was mostly populated by the Genomes. But there had been a time, where their numbers were nearly equaled by black mages. Back then, as it seemed to be now, the grass was greener, the flowers seemed brighter, and the graveyard was not filled with so many markers. Suddenly, Winter had fled, and it was spring, warm and sunny, the sound of one baby Chocobo warking in the distance.

"What trick is this..." she murmured to herself.
