Squall walked a few steps ahead of Ellone, wondering just where was it that she wanted to take him. As far as he knew, she'd never been to Dali at all. Still, it seemed like a nice little town and maybe she just wanted a bit of fresh air and open space. Galbadia Garden, while big in its own right, could still be restrictive to some people.

Briefly, he wondered if Laguna had boarded the Garden yet. Then they could pick up the pace and head off to Alexandria.

Ellone had been glad that it hadn't taken much to convince Squall to take her on a walk. Somehow, she'd still retained her ability to be sneaky... if she'd ever had it to begin with.

"Can we get something to drink, Squall?" she asked gently, trying not to sound as though she were stalling or looking for someone. With a smile and a tilt of her head, she headed for the little cafe, wondering if maybe Uncle Laguna had decided to take shelter in there. Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the door and glanced around, hoping Uncle Laguna was inside.

Indeed, Uncle Laguna was inside. He was inside and paying for his food. He nodded to the man at the register and turned to leave, but then he caught sight of Ellone and grinned widely. "Ellone! Hey!" He exclaimed, they came sooner than he expected.

He quickly walked to them and gave Ellone a hug. He looked a bit nervous when he looked to Squall but he didn't dare touch him. He would most likely get punched for it. So, he nodded to him and smiled. "Hey Squall. Thank you for coming to pick me up, really."

It was a trap! Squall's instincts screamed at him the moment he stepped through the door of the cafe. There went all his plans of avoiding Laguna, thanks to Ellone. He couldn't help giving his beloved Sis a betrayed look as Laguna approached them.

He shrugged as Laguna approached them and answered, "Sis wanted to see you."

At least she had the grace to look ashamed for a moment before Laguna wrapped her up in a hug. "It seemed appropriate," she murmured, pulling back and smiling slightly. "I wanted someone I could trust to come down with me."

Not that she didn't trust Selphie or Quistis, but, well... Squall was Squall and he'd already saved her on more than one occasion. And they were close... that had to count for something, right?

Laguna gave a soft sigh, but didn't do much else. He really couldn't understand why Squall persisted so much on avoiding him. Well, okay, he kind of did and it hurt a little. But the president just wasn't sure what to do about it. Even Ellone was trying to help!

"Will you both be down here long? I can wait if you wanted to take a walk or something," Laguna suggested. He was eager to be in the Garden again but he didn't want to inconvenience anything either.

Squall avoided Laguna because it brought up some painful memories and most of them did not involve Laguna in a complimentary way.

"Sis said she wanted to take a walk, so it's entirely up to you. You can head for the Garden first if you want. You can't miss it." It was a hint. A very broad hint. Like who can miss the giant red building floating outside the village.

On the one hand, Ellone could kind of understand Squall's aversion, but on the other it was Uncle Laguna and she loved him very dearly. She glanced at Squall, frowning slightly at his insinuation and sighed.

"I'm here as long as Squall will let me," she answered with a slightly pointed look, though she quickly dropped it and glanced apologetically at Uncle Laguna.
