Summary: Vayne and Balthier encounter each other at the auction house, and strike an unlikely agreement.

Treno proved to be a far greater source of information than Vayne could have possibly hoped for. While he still felt ridiculously like a vulgar begging for a morsel of information from a rich man's table, when he laid his head to rest for the day, it was ripe with more wealth in knowledge than he could have hoped for. Information he soon hoped to share with some of the other contacts he had made. Doing his own dirty work was utterly exhausting and he keenly felt the lack of aids and underlings to do some of the more mundane tasks he dealt with daily.
There was neither the time nor the luxury of wallowing in any regrets of that nature. Instead, Vayne marched into the auction house, intent to stay for the evening in hopes that a seed of a rumor he had heard could be confirmed. There were rumors that some of the items coming up for auction were from other worlds, and not this one. It seemed reasonable enough, that if people and places arrived, why not also monsters and items? Pity his sky fortess had not as yet made an appearance.
So to one side of the room, Vayne stood with his arms crossed across his chest, listening intently for the list of goods up for sale in the auction. The final one, the rare artifact for the evening was named as magicite. Indeed, this could be a most profitable evening.
