It still felt so overwhelming. Penelo found herself comfortably seated inside Garnet's sitting room at Alexandria castle and yet she still felt utterly overwhelmed. Some of her closest and most trusted friends were there, women she admired and respected. That helped a lot. But there was still the growing realization that she was getting married. And married to a prince at that. She suddenly felt very small and out of her league, which was ameliorated by the warm support of her friends. But...
Garnet was incredibly gracious with her hospitality and had apparently already sent for a seamstress to work on a dress. Meanwhile a maid or two hovered nearby with snacks and hot tea. And meanwhile, Penelo sat on the couch with her hands in fists on her knees, trying to anchor herself to get on with what needed to be done. Whatever that might be.
