Seeing Oerba in its prime again had a surprisingly dour effect on Vanille's mood. She supposed it had to do with the fact that the Oerba she'd last seen in reality had been nothing but a shell of the place she had once known. She'd been on the edge of coming to terms with her 500-year absence when she'd arrived here and suddenly found herself looking at the Oerba that had once been.
It hurt more to see her home and know it would never be that way ever again. Everyone she knew was gone and never would be there again. Dust covered every inch of the place she'd once known. And now the fal'Cie were threatening the other family she'd come to love.
Actually, now she wasn't even sure what was going on. All Vanille knew was that Lightning and Serah were here and she needed to have a talk with them. Recently, she'd found an empty apartment that looked nice and invited Lightning and Serah over once she'd gotten out of Oerba. So, she was currently sitting on the steps outside, waiting for them to get there. She looked subdued for now, but she'd put on a happy face as soon as they arrived.
