Auron had spoken with Lady Yuna sometime before and they had agreed to venture to Goug to see Rikku's machina. Admittedly, the last he remembered of Rikku was when she was a youngster. Seeing Rikku older was something of a shock to him. He had many, many questions and not nearly enough answers, namely how Tidus and Yuna even knew each other.
He had bought several days' worth of food and drink supplies as well as many of the easiest methods of travel, seeing that Yuna was pregnant. He felt they were ready to leave, though he waited for Yuna's final decision.
