By the time Rishfee had arrived back in Lindblum, darkness had long since passed. It was almost the early hours of the morning, and he had decided to split from Vincent upon the older ones decision to purchase more bullets. While the trip to Lindblum en route to face Gaheel Ja has been decided upon for the chance for the other to resupply, Rishfee had matters just as important to attend to. Namely telling Eiko where he was going next, and apologizing for it. He was adamant though that the girl was not to come. While her magics and her summons gave the pair far more chance to survive, the blue mage had first hand experience of Gaheel Ja's tendencies to go for the weak. Eiko would be a target first and foremost. Possibly even more so than him; If Gaheel Ja could crush a child into a bloody mess upon the ground, he would do so above any and all else. And Rishfee wasn't going to let that happen. No matter how she begged to be involved. He wasn't even sure with Vincent's help that he'd survive another encounter with the Lancelord.
Yet he wasn't going to lie to her. He couldn't- he didn't have it in him. He couldn't treat her with as little regard as to think her stupid enough to believe he'd merely gone for tea. He saw the little summoner as more than a fool that could be lied to.
He entered Eiko's room silently and laid the
early winterfest present he'd promised her at the foot of her bed. It wasn't much. Merely a few Wutaian hair accessories with absolutely little purpose sans decoration; but it was an early present nonetheless. And lightly he whispered; kneeling and lightly brushing his fingers through the sleeping child's bangs- careful to avoid the horn. In case it hurt. He didn't know. It might.
"Eiko. I'm sorry to wake you, but I must talk to you. Please wake up." his voice was little more than a whisper and his heart was already sinking to the pit of his stomach at the news he had to relay to her.
